European Film Festival 2010 in Tanzania

The European Film Festival is a major annual cultural event organised by European embassies and the European Union Delegation in Tanzania.From 14th Oct - 7th November 2010 at New World Cinema, Mwenge, Dar es Salaam.

Films from European countries and from Tanzania will be shown everyday at the New World,The Embassy of Sweden, as part of its EU Presidency program,  is the one arranging this year’s European Film Festival. The festival is an explosion of adventurous, funny, sad, educational and above all, entertaining films played out on the streets of St. Petersburg, in the heat of the Sahara desert, in remote villages in Sweden, or maybe on the high seas of the world for all to enjoy.





With the essential assistance of 23 great sponsors, entrance remains free and you get to watch the 31 films from 14 European countries, the European Commission in Tanzania and some great Tanzanian films.The European Year 2009 has as its theme “Creativity and Innovation”. This is picked up in the trailer for the festival which is produced by future Tanzanian filmmakers and where children from the Dogo Dogo Centre are experiencing the joy of acting for the very first time.
