Rendezvous with Our Fashion Queen: Mademoiselle Trendy!

Notre reine de la mode!!!(Our Fashion Queen) okay Sorry about that French, I just think Fashion sounds so good in French doncha think?
Mademoiselle Trendy is a woman Who i must admit, i've been somewhat addicted to over the the few months..Bookmarked her page and got a few tips from her closet on whats hot. And since I'm not selfish, I had to let her share them with you as well! After Passing by her blog a alot and I mean an awful lot!I think She is the ideal person any woman should take Fashion Advice from, Classic, ELegante... i love that she stays with trends within her personal style.
Now Shut up, and take notes!

Are u a Less or more? And what do u think is hot, less or more skin shown?
It depends on my mood or what type of occasion/event I’m dressing for really. Sometimes less can be more but when I go out for example I don’t shy away from wearing a lot of accessories or having fun with my hair and make up. As for the skin showing, being that I was always a shy person, I tended to show the less skin possible when dressing up because I was extremely body-conscious. Let’s just say that I was the very skinny girl at school and that people weren’t exactly nice with their comments….Aaah good times lol. Anyways, as I got older, I finally realized that life was too short to just dwell on the past or think about what people may say, that you get to be young only once and so I decided to boost that confidence and show a little more skin sometimes. Nothing major…I allow myself to go above the knee now and try shorts from time to time lol. I definitely think that you can be subtle and sexy. You DO NOT have to show every part of your body to be sexy, imagination is a powerful tool, let people work theirs ;) …To me, even a turtleneck, when worn the right way, can be very sexy.
Fashion and style are two different things; tell us ur fashion rules and personal style?
Because as much as trends come and go, we believe women should have their personal style...Whats yours?
I don’t have specific fashion rules but I do mix black and white with all sorts of other colors a lot because those are 2 colors you can really play up. Experimentation over the years, trials and errors, really allow you to learn what to do and what not to do when mixing different colors or patterns. That’s the way I did it anyways, without even realizing it most of the time. Style is something that you definitely learn, you have to be creative and think outside the box sometimes if you really want to be original. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t…lol And believe me, it took a lot of fashion disasters to figure out my style but I can safely say that I’m happy with what it is today and how it reflects the different sides of my personality.
My style is definitely eclectic, with African, European and North American influences. I can be classy and elegant but I also like the whole rocker chic attitude, I have a love of biker jackets and tattoos. Sticking to just one vibe is not for me, I like to be multidimensional and I’m looking forward to showing more of that side of me on my blog in the future.

What do you think Today's Modern woman should dress like or stick to...
Today, women have the advantage to be able to dress like they want to. We have no restrictions and many styles and clothes to choose from. In the past (and still in some parts of the world), women didn’t have that luxury. I strongly believe you should dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable and shows off your personality the most. Don’t be afraid to be confident, to believe in yourself and don’t be intimidated or influenced by all the images out there supposedly showing how a modern woman should look like. Try out different things and surely you’ll find something that suits you…We’re all different and that’s the beauty of it.

New Trends we should know about Miss Trendy?
lol Grey nailpolish, Red dresses for the holidays, chunky knits, knee-high boots, etc.

What is the 'It' Jewellery...
A nice pair of gold earrings for the Holidays :)

Are you a big dangly many jewellery person or just little detail...?
I love jewelry and especially combining many necklaces. I just can’t help it, the great thing is that you can create a whole new piece just by putting the right jewelry together, no need to buy new ones! Life is hard nowadays moneywise; you certainly don’t want to ruin yourself buying fake expensive jewelry lol. I don’t wear bangles that much; I’m more of a necklace and earrings person. However, when the outfit requires it I do stick to the minimum…

Women and bags. Should we have them small or big?
I don’t know about other women, but I LOVE big bags! What is there not to like about them? You have plenty of space for everything you want; you don’t need to carry any extra bags, and nowadays they look good too. I swear I put all sorts of things in my bag, umbrellas, shoes, even boots sometimes lol…Small bags are nice too, but I tend to carry them only when I go out a night or for a special occasion …for that extra classy touch
Tell a shopper what she should look for in a store when shopping, Fashion wise...
First of all, before going shopping or making any type of attempt to find fashionable clothes, I think you should be aware of your body type. That’s very helpful when you’re in a big store and don’t’ know which way to go and there’s no one around to help you. Women tend to overlook that fact and end up bringing a lot of bad clothes home. You need to focus on clothes that have the right shapes for your body type, colors that compliment your hair and skin color because whether you’re tall, short, skinny or curvy…there surely is fashionable clothes for you. Once you know what suits you best, go towards the clothes, shapes/structures, colors that fit the description. Also, don’t just stare at the garment on the rack and think it’s not going to work because you made up your mind that way, be active…TRY IT ON, you never know. Then it just comes naturally, you won’t need to spend 5 hours looking for the right skirt or dress, because by then you’ll know what the right dress for you should look like. The rest is all a matter of taste and truthfully, there’s not much you can about that lol…

TEll us about your adventures with fashion
Lol That could take awhile…But generally speaking, I’ve always loved fashion, I’ve tried some pretty crappy trends though over the years…The whole military trend back in the 90s, baggy jeans and overalls (I know I know that's terrible !), colored glassed, Spice Girls Platforms...Thankfully, I came back from those, grew from my mistakes and managed to find my way amongst all the trends society throws at you at one time or another. I feel like my style grew with me and reflects who I am today, so it’s definitely going to change as I experience life and try out new things.

Any Fashion Backfires?
Of course! lolll the whole "high heels with socks" look I posted on my blog a few weeks back got a lot of attention, negative or positive depending on the website but I’m definitely glad I tried it. It’s not something I would do on a daily basis, It actually was a first for me. I don’t believe in doing only what people expect or want you to do. Life would be so boring if we didn’t try out new things and experiment from time to time. No matter what you do, you will always find people that aren’t going to like it, therefore that shouldn’t stop you from doing your thing.

Which countries have the best and worst fashions in clothes?
France is definitely a reference to me when it comes to fashion and style generally, Italy is not bad either…I love the Japanese flavour to, the clothes are full of excitement and originality!
I don’t think there are countries with really bad fashion, just people with really bad taste or knowledge of themselves…

Microminis? What Age do u suggests them illegal to wear?
All of them ….lol
Would u rock clogs? Why n why not?
Never lolll even if they were the last shoes on Earth, I would rather go barefoot …I just don't like them, the versions we're seeing lately aren't any better for me…lol...

Are you one of those people who gets trends just because their trends n even
if they dont actually look that good....Why or why not?
No, I don’t.Trends are definitely pointers but I don’t try them all, because to be honest most of them do not fit with my style. Sometimes, I’m like «let me try this, I’m curious to see what it would look like on me» but it’s not an obsession or something I have to do at all cost. I report on trends from time to time on my blog because I know that it does help some people to shop or just be in style when they don’t know what to look for at that moment. This season for example, I did not try/like the whole faux-fur, capes, wedges trends…

Whats Miss Trendy's Most Fashionable Colors..what would u advice my readers to stick to?
Being that I’m African, I have a special place in my heart for bold colors, mostly yellow, fuchsia and red (my favourite color). I also love blues, browns and black of course. I’ve been wearing a lot of pastel colors lately though; especially camel (I’m literally in love with that color!!).
If you’re not adventurous, stick to neutral colors such as beige, grey, black, etc. because you can never go wrong with those.
