Our Poetry

Fashion labels ...African fashion labels...are now moving steps further in advertising their work, scratch fancy campaigns, I'm talking short films to show the direction of their labels and what they stand for. I loved A.Sauvage short film This is not a suit  and now Africa is the future travels on the same path of fashion with film too.. but the surprising thing about this short film, Our poetry is, it isn't what you'd think a fashion film would be like. The Direction of the short film seems to portray just what the name says, Africa's future, taking back what is 'theirs' Quite interesting concept really, i loved it!

‘Our Poetry,’ a fifteen minute short film written and directed by brand owner and photographer Nicolas Premier. At first sight, it does not appear to be a fashion marketing tool at least not in the traditional sense. On second thought though, it seems pretty spot on for a brand that defiantly proclaims a future for Africa. There are no branded goods, no AITF t-shirts to be seen. In fact it is a fictional revolutionary exposé, where several photo journalists rise up to shed light on the corporate maleficience of the entity Billmore Energy. A corporation that has used  black-ops militia to permanently silence and remove its opponents for capital gains. The opening credits quote German philosopher, Max Stirner, “The Great are great only because we are on our knees.” This cry certainly would seem to apply in the case of many African nations, watch the reel to see how it turns out and find out what it takes for our poetry to be written.
