The Word 'Vuvuzela' is now a new entry in the Oxford Dictionary
So i just heard the news...Vuvuzela is among new Oxford Dictionary of English entries!
A man blowing a vuvuzela Vuvuzelas came to prominence in the World Cup and made an impression on the English language...The World Cup and the credit crunch have all influenced the latest edition of the Oxford Dictionary of English.
The vuvuzela, a horn instrument blown by football fans during the World Cup in South Africa, is one new entry!
Yeah well its been in the Tanzanian 'Swahili' Dicitonary of street words for long now, meaning a woman who talks to0 much (i heard)...If you have a big mouth and cant stop yapping, wabongo will be glad to call you 'Vuvuzela' lol, nilisikia that nilivokua Bongo, wanawake waongeaji wanaitwa ma-vuvuvzela...Loh!
Thats not the only new Vocabulary The South African world cup brought along, Watu weusi/Negores/black people, are also being called Waka waka, well, in only some geographical regions, like this city called pune..ahem ahem. It started as a joke whenever you say that you're African people automatically assume you're 'South African' and start singing 'Waka waka' and the name grew...haha!
