Giant statue sighting in Hamburg

Am I the only one who finds this sculpture a bit odd?...I mean,Its a giant sculpture of a woman spreading her legs in the middle of nowhere...And if its a mermaid as everyone is calling it..why does it/she/whatever have legs?
'mermaid' sculpture created by Oliver Voss on Alster lake in Hamburg in the late evening August 3, 2011. The four-metre-high sculpture dubbed "Riesen-Nixe" (grand mermaid) or "Badenixe" (bathing beauty)

Nice Sexy Libya

The Gaddafi's are still not backing down...the country is still at war battle for power, this is a rare interview by David  Kirkpatrick on New York Times on Gaddafi's son Seif al-Islam el-Qaddafi,, who looks all chill and laid back.. he remains defiant. For one... Seif who claims  he's forming a secret alliance w/ Islamists against rebels...just proved to us that he indeed, cannot..keep a secret...however those claims have been denied by those 'Islamists of Libya'
He proceeds and answers the question why everybody isn't intervening  anywhere else but Libya ..not in the middle east or Africa ....why  Libya?...
Because Libya is very sexy, Libya is very nice.... 3:00 Dead!Gaddafi passed on his crazy Genes to his son...Nice sexy Libya

A Greener Fendi

Ethical fashion, doing more with fashion....
Just because something’s recycled doesn’t mean it has to look cheap or ugly, says the founder of Carmina Campus, a new line of totes, computer sleeves, and iPad covers made from reclaimed materials. Then again, she’s a Fendi. The youngest daughter of Anna, one of five Fendi sisters who transformed the family business into an international brand, Ilaria Venturini Fendi is using her clan’s artisanal approach to refashion castoff supplies into objects of exuberance and desire. Produced in Africa through the UN-sanctioned Ethical Fashion Programme, the line marries fine tailoring with leftover fabrics (including reclaimed safari tents, military blankets, and leather swatches) to reflect
Venturini Fendi’s aspirations for a better world.

“The idea is that the word ‘ethical’ should no longer apply to just a niche,” Venturini Fendi says.
Its “STOP FGM” collection, for instance, campaigns against the practice of female genial mutilation, with a portion of proceeds earmarked for charity.

Norway Bomber Anders Behring Breivik isnt a Stella Mwangi Fan

And anyone else who isnt(a Stella Mwangi fan), is just plain mad,lol,...Story is, Kenyan Rapper Stella Mwangi had an entry in the Norway Bomber's Diary,A diary compiled by confessed mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik includes comments critical of a Kenyan singer who represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest.

An asylum seeker from Kenya, performing a bongo song — very representative of Europe and my country. I hope Germany wins.My country has a crap politically correct contribution.

How super mean
However Stella caught up with BBC and talked about it...

I had not heard or read about it, and when they asked me, I was so shocked, didn’t know what to say,I was a bit scared at first, but I decided not to think about it too much because people will always have an opinion about what I do. But I am just sickened by the fact that he wrote about me on his diary.

Whenever i hear people talk bad about Stella representing Norway in Eurovision, I never really get it, I mean arent  the Norwegian televoters  the ones who selected Stella Mwangi to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest?

Billionaire Carves His name in the desert so it can be seen from Space

You know, we've all written our names on the beach, but when you're really really rich, as in Arab oil stinky rich, you write your name on the beach in a different way, so it can be seen from space...*sighs*...smh talk about leaving a mark...

A satelite image from space showing the large letters
Hamad, also known as the 'Rainbow Sheikh', is a member of the Abu Dhabi Ruling Family.(Pssst He's called Rainbow sheikh coz   His fleet of more than 200 cars are  painted in different colours of the rainbow and stores them in a giant pyramid, *sighs again*)The word 'HAMAD' measures 1,000 metres high and is a staggering two miles long from the 'H' to the 'D' on the Al Futaisi island.
Hamad dreamed up the idea and had his workmen toil for weeks to craft the enormous piece of sand graffiti. It is not known how much it cost to make.
However, the sheikh boasts a personal fortune second only to the Saudi king's.
And rather than allow the writing to be washed away by the ocean, the letters actually form waterways that absorb the encroaching tide. The ruler's name is even visible on Google's map service. [Source]

The Worst Driver in Holland

And all this time my parents made me believe i was the worst driver in the world...Behold...the other worst driver in the world
On Hollands worst driver contest,a contestant ran down the TV host... I mean, its a Worst Drivers in Holland Contest..the odds of someone getting knocked over, are high.
The driver,Pim has had his licence revoked.

television personality Ruben Nicolai was standing to the side of a 'braking from speed test' when the contestant known as 'Pim' swerved off the tarmac and ploughed straight into both a cameraman and Nicolai himself.

Rickshaws with Navigation system

Wouldnt it be soo cool if those Bajajs in Dar had navigation systems?
Well in India those babies are being fixed with Navigation systems..

Next week, 250 rickshaws in New Delhi will be fitted with GPS devices as part of a trial period, with plans to roll out the scheme for all the vehicles in the city by the end of next month. The SatNav scheme is the latest attempt by city officials to improve the reputation of rickshaw drivers. The devices will serve the dual purpose of allowing the authorities to track journeys, while passengers can check they are being taken on the shortest possible route. The devices will also be fitted with a panic button to allow women to raise the alarm if they’re attacked
Kind of awkward when you think about it though, its like modern bikes with  basic breaking system and now  navigation systems...

The Narrowest House

And i used to think my apartment was small, I love it now

Prince and Princess Of Monaco

Finally..they WED!
SO i watched the whole thing, and i can bet you, along with the whole of Africa! as the beautiful South African Olympic became Princess of Monaco... all the way through thinking, this is the longest French class ever..all of a sudden the skipped french classes of long ago have come back to haunt me... The ineresting fact is i dont even speak french and i was more concentrated than ever, infact i translated the whole thing to my sister..
But it was great tho..After they exchanged vows,
Albert winked at Charlene which was so cute coz she seemed so nervous.. she smiled shyly. They held hands as a South African singer sang a Click Song a South African song of Xhosa people, made by the famous late Miriam Makeba as everyone humbly smiled like WTF  O_o
I'm hearing the  AfriForum possibly to lodge a complaint that "Boeremusiek" was not represented Royal wedding ...lol
Then the camera man kept moving to the Handsome nephews of the prince.. Gorgeous!
Long story short..they had a quite awkward peck...
then I was seeing South African everywhere...

And then at Saint Devote Church She cried.. I was reaching out to the tv to hug her as my sister was dialling someone to ask for Caroline and Albert's birthdate ( we dont even know them!)

And I loved that dress, not entirely but loved that it was sooooo long...though Charlene didnt wear any detail at all, no earrings, no diamond necklace..nada..
Giorgio Armani duchess satin gown encrusted with thousands of tiny crystals
And after that they celebrate the wedding in an Indian style..3 days non stop...Rich bastards.. ( Im just angry at myself)
But i dunno, the wedding was incomplete to me I dint hear no vuvuzelas ebo...

Shark Jumps Over Surfer

An incident in

Florida's New Smyrna Beach

You're a surfer riding some Smyrna waves whats the worse that could happen? Umm I dunno, a 1.2 metre long shark leaps over your head! ..btw..so many hits, but the shark looked like a salmon...overhype
The sea creature in the video is actually spinner shark, and such behaviour is perfectly normal and completely harmless – to humans anyway.
The Florida Museum of Natural History explained: ‘They swim swiftly up in a vertical position to swallow their prey while they spin. Often their momentum causes them to exit the water.’
Spinner sharks, highly valued by fisheries, are on the threatened species list.

The Protest Against Volkswagen

Remember that The Force Commercial by Volkswagen..well
it has made a turn for the worst.. at

Old Street's Silicon Roundabout, North London

The stunt was organised by Greenpeace and saw environmentalists dress up as the iconic Star Wars figures to unfurl banners around the roundabout protesting against Volkswagen’s alleged opposition to European environmental laws.
A banner unveiled in the centre of the large roundabout on Tuesday morning, declared: ‘Volkswagen. The Dark Side’, with a link to a website detailing Greenpeace’s protest.
A statement, entitled Rebel Manifesto, on the site states: ‘Our home - Earth - is in trouble. VW opposes key environmental laws we need if we're going to stop our planet going the way of Alderaan (bye bye). But all is not lost. We feel the good in Volkswagen.

Saudi Women take the wheel

Its Quite unfair that some women are being arrested for actually trying to drive, I mean theres no actual rule in the Quran or law that states women  cannot not drive...  If there is no actual law that states that these women cant drive and why cant they drive, What stands are they arresting them on?

Women in the country are not allowed to drive and must have written approval from a designated guardian -- a father, husband, brother or son -- to leave the country, work or travel abroad.
The campaign Alsharif launched is aimed at teaching women to drive and encouraging them to start driving from June 17, using foreign-issued licences.
Listen to what Hillary has to say about it...

Meet The World

So I got an email that made my day.....the subject...meet the world..
Icaro Doria, a Brazilian man, working for a magazine in Portugal started this campaign using real data from the UN and flag images, he’s created whats known as Meet the World. The colors within the flags from its respective country are used to represent current, geographical relevant issues. Take a look.
The flags have hit a nerve as they've circled the earth once or twice already in chain letter emails even though they were only intended to be a poster campaign, won a well deserved gold at the One Show, and over at Brazilian artist .net they have a short email chat with Icaro Doria.
These 'Ads' have been all over the web described as anything but an ad campaign.
It's either "art" or a "political statement" and it's even  been fictitiously nominated as "an entry for contention in the Nobel Prize of Political Marketing." (see here).

USA

COlombia

European Union

Brazil

Somalia

Burkina Faso

People's Republic of China
I fret To think What our Own Flag would stand for...lol

The Berlin Patient

A disease hurting scientists minds for years...killing millions of people worldwide, one man cured, is this the beginning of its defeat...Victory dance anyone?

A 45-year-old man now living in the Bay Area may be the first person ever cured of the deadly disease AIDS, the result of the discovery of an apparent HIV immunity gene.Timothy Ray Brown tested positive for HIV back in 1995, but has now entered scientific journals as the first man in world history to have that HIV virus completely eliminated from his body in what doctors call a “functional cure.”

Anderson Cooper, The Ridiculist

Anderson Cooper used Jon Stewart's Anthony Weiner-related mishap to poke some fun at CNN--and himself--on his Wednesday show...
I'm kind of surprised at his sense humor..makes him seem less robotic...those glassy blue eyes that reflect the news..i dont even know why i was hooked on CNN all day yesterday..*weird*
Stewart cut himself while doing a sketch about the Weiner scandal, and Cooper jokingly took him to task for it.
