Well from what i heard on the interview she had with Kate sZatmari
she has an upcoming film 'Video Girl', her actual experiences as a video girl for 50 Cent and other artists, and industry stereotypes.
It’s about a girl who wants to be a professional ballerina but her dreams are shattered after a terrible car accident. She’s later approached about becoming a video girl and moves to Los Angeles only to find herself getting caught up in the limelight. It’s a great story that exemplifies what can happen when you’re involved in the industry and just how far sometimes people will go to try to make it.
Meagan Good on being a Video Girl:
I’ve been in the industry since I was 4 years old. People do often mistake me for a video girl even though the first video I did was back in 2003, 50 Cent’s “21 Questions.” Initially it was just something fun to do and though I did make a few more cameos on other video’s I decided to not do it anymore. Unfortunately when it comes to films I began to get boxed in as an actress in terms of how people would see me. It’s hard to break out of a market and I’d like to be in all markets.
Meagan Good on industry stereotypes:
I have definitely find myself being stereotyped in the industry and I often end up playing roles such as the love interest or the best friend and I think it’s due to some of the music videos, modeling and photo shoots I’ve been involved in that contributed to being typecast. Personally I’m just capable of so much more. I’d like to play all roles and get dirty with it. If I have to shave my head or gain 40 pounds I can do it and chances are I won’t be asking for more money as I believe in my craft and love what I do.
